Wow. It's hard to believe but my daughter turns 18 years old this December 8th. I wanted to take a few moments to share with the thousands of visitor's who come here to tell you a little about Alicia.
Seven years ago I met her mother and her sister Missy at the church I was attending. Alicia was just a shy, quiet little girl who seemed to always be trying to do the right thing. She didn't have to try very hard because doing the right thing came natural to her. She was active in the church and if you ever had to draw up a blueprint of what you wished for in a daughter, Alicia would be the daughter you would want to have.
Blessings from God come from all sorts of circumstances. Well as it turned out after her mother's divorce, God for some odd reason permitted me to become a big part of Alicia's life. I ended up marrying her mom and now was given the responsibility of raising her up in our new home. I watched as she became involved in sports at school and how she was able to balance everything in her life in such a beautiful and mature way.
She now has a job, a nice boyfriend and just got her driver's license. She getting ready to go college after she graduates this year and the circle of life continues with the rest of our girls at home. But December 8th is her special day. So here is our wish list for the life we hope she finds out there waiting for her.
1) Good health
2) The perfect companion
3) A job she enjoys
4) A family of her own some day
And most of all,
5) God as her strength
So Alicia we want you to especially know this. You have made your mother and me so very, very proud. Proud that we were the ones who were blessed by just having you in our lives. You are a beautiful person both on the inside and outside. Now speaking of the outside :-)
If there was one piece of final advice I could give you it would be this or at least think about it.
Don't get that bellybutton piercing you plan on getting when you turn eighteen.
Anyway if you do we still love you so,
Happy 18th Birthday Alicia,
We love you so much and only encourage you to be bold in your decisions and live each day of the rest of your life to its fullest and never forget we are always here for you.
Love you,
Mom and Dad
