How glorious it is to be alive today. To know that Jesus Christ reigns in victory over all His creation. Victory born of a sinless life and unconditional sacrifice that nailed Him to a wooden cross on our behalf. To pretend that we could ever understand that kind of love and sacrifice is unimaginable. To proclaim love as a Christian is to extend our love to other’s as He has done for us. To know that He came or was made manifest for one reason, to set up an eternal house not made of hands but an earthly tent that embodies the eternal.
2 Cr 5: 1 For we know that if our earthly house of [this] tabernacle were dissolved, we have a building of God, an house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens.
The promises of AD70 didn’t end there. Isaiah gives us a glimpse of the promises that would follow and should resinate in the heart of every believer whose faith is established in Christ.
Isa 65: 17 For, behold, I create new heavens and a new earth: and the former shall not be remembered, nor come into mind.
Who could steal such a hope or promise extended to His chosen one’s? As an artist and a believer, I have embraced the belief that Jesus Christ has accomplished everything He said in the fulfillment of all the written word and law. Although these beliefs come with the label of "Preterism", these beliefs also remove all the doubts and fears of my eternal security. A biblical "hope" leaves little doubt to these beliefs. My hope is an assurance an Eternal Kingdom that was bought at an astounding cost. The blood of the most precious Son of God who is the author of our hope eternal and anchor of our soul.
Heb 6:19 Which [hope] we have as an anchor of the soul, both sure and steadfast, and which entereth into that within the veil;
The apostle Paul revealed to us a great mystery. Paul told us of a glorious hope that has been perfected in our very being. It’s in our nature being created in the image of God to explore and want to achieve more knowledge of God’s eternal truths. The arts allow me to do this and worship the King of the Universe with all my heart and soul. Art opens up the imagination and explores the mysteries hidden inside my own spirit. So when Paul reveals to us the greatest mystery of all time and with a flare for the dramatic he adds, "hidden from the ages and generations," I must pursue this truth. What is this great mystery that heaven has unlocked for him?
Col 1:27 To whom God would make known what [is] the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles; which is Christ in you, the hope of glory:
Looking toward the eastern sky for your "someday" hope, isn’t hope at all. Biblical hope springs eternal daily if your focus is the Glorious promise of His very presence within you. This is the good news message for us today. The establishment of the greatest hope or assurance ever extended to man with it’s promise of Christ victorious for all eternity!
