Recently our little church fellowship decided to take the trek to St. Vincent's college in Latrobe Pa to watch our all-time favorite sports team work out for the upcoming season. Well it was Hot, Hot, Hot, is how I would describe my first trip to a Pittsburgh Steeler training camp. The temperatures soared to around ninety degree's by the time the afternoon practice started at 2:55 pm.
We were not alone either. In spite of it being a weekday afternoon, there was about four thousand other black and gold fans there that day baking in the sun right along with us. Steeler fans are truly fanatics when it comes to their team. Personally, from the day Franco Harris made his "immaculent reception" catch, the four Super Bowl championships of the 1970's, the lean year's, the Bill Cowher era, up until now, I have been a fan and bled black and gold. So to see our team up close and personal was an awesome adventure.
Who knows what the upcoming season has in store for our beloved team. Really does it matter. We'll still faithfully watch most every down they play this year. We'll scream and yell at our television sets and pray they make the playoff's and maybe even make it to another Super Bowl.
As for Jesus Christ being a Steeler fan, personally I believe He has to be because I am a reflection of His image.
Go Steeler's and God bless the Steeler nation.
